baby-e is mostly just me, Leon Dalziel, a website designer based in Motukiekie Rocks on the West Coast of the South Island, in New Zealand.
baby-e was born in August 1999, for freelance web design moonlighting, and since then it has become a full-time business.
I spent 10 years in the advertising and design industry and lived to tell about it. Sadly, gone are my days of long lunches and lattes in Sydney and New Zealand ad agencies.

While most web designers work from crowded co-working spaces or cluttered home offices, I've chosen something different. My office sits nestled in lush West Coast rainforest, just minutes from where waves crash against ancient rugged sea stacks and towering cliffs.
From Motukiekie Rocks on New Zealand's wild West Coast, I design websites and solve digital problems for clients. Starlink keeps me seamlessly connected to clients around the country and around the globe.
Tucked between primeval forest and rugged cliffs, it's about as far from Silicon Valley as you can get – and that's exactly the point.
